Judge Brassell had served as Hill County Precinct 2 justice of the peace from 2015 until January of this year, when he left that office to become Hill County Jail captain for Sheriff Hunter Barnes.

A decorated U.S. Army Iraq War veteran, Judge Brassell also worked as a Hill County Sheriff’s Office deputy before he was first elected as justice of the peace in 2014.

He has been active as a Hill County 4-H leader and implemented a juvenile drug court program to assist youth during his time as justice of the peace.

Brassell and his wife, Lyndsy, live in Whitney with their three children.
